The Joplin Jailbirds close the first series with the Clarinda A's

The Jailbirds(7-6, 6-6 MINK) would lose a double header against the Clarinda A’s (9-1, 8-1 MINK) and be swept in the series. Joplin Jailbirds will next play against the Nevada Griffons on the 18th of June at 6:30pm.


During a high scoring first game the Jailbirds would fall 16-11.


The Athletics got on the board first with a run in the first inning.


The Clardina Athletics would score 7 runs in the 2nd with 3 hits before reliever Kaylor Darnell would come in and end the inning.


Jace Midgett would get the first hit for the Jailbirds in the second with a single to center field.


The Athletics would get their 9th run in the 3rd.


A Landin Midgett double to right field would get the Jailbirds their first run as Eric Williams Jr. would get home.Austin Marsh would score from a Jose Gomez single and Landin Midgett would score from a throwing error on the play. This put the score at 9-3 for the away team.


2 more runs would be scored by the Athletics in the top of the 5th. This put them up 11-3


A pair of home runs during the 6th would give the Athletics a 14-3 lead.


Jace Midgett would hit a 2 RBI double to get the bottom of the 6th started. Williams Jr hit a single to score Jace Midgett. A walk on Landin Midgett would get Tucker home and set the score 14-7


In the top of the 7th Clarinda would put up a 16th score.


The Jailbirds would battle against the now 9 point deficit in the final inning.A Cy Darnell single would help close the gap by 2. Brady Stull would drive in another. A walk would earn the 10th run for the home team. A sac fly from Landin Midgett would see Stull score the 11th. The game would end on the next batter.


Starting pitcher Cohen Epler would receive the loss.


Jace Midgett was the MAPP Technologies player of the game.


In the second game the Jailbirds would lose in extra innings 6-4.


The Jailbirds would score first as Mason Williams would score from a ground out by Elliot Charlot after Williams stole 2 bases.


A 2 run home run in the 5th would put the Athletics up 2-1.


A Jace Walker sac fly would see Shadrich Salazaar score and tie the game in the bottom of the 5th.


Mason Williams would take the lead for the Jbirds as he hit a single to left field and sent Landin Midgett home.


The Athletics would score off an error to tie the game at 3 going into the bottom of the 7th.


In the first extra inning the Athletics would score 3 and put the score to 6-3. It would prove a deficit too great for the Jailbirds.


Cy Darnell would score on a wild pitch to put the final score would wind up 6-4. 


Mason Williams was the MAPP Technologies player of the game.


Alex Rodriguez would receive the loss and be 0-2 overall.
