On a Roll: Jailbirds v Griffons 6/30/2026
The #3 Jailbirds (13-7, 12-7 MINK), would end the month strong against the #7 Nevada Griffons (5-15, 5-14 MINK), with a 9-8 win in extra innings.
They’ll play next at the St. Joe Mustangs Thursday July 2nd at 6:30.
Gio Mastrarosa would delight the crowd in the bottom of the 1st as he hit a 3-run home run.
Nevada would score 3 of their own in similar fashion during the 2nd.
An error by Nevada would allow Eric Williams Jr. to score run number 4.
Rocco Reagan would hit home Drew Vonder Harr. Shadrach Salazar hit a single to left field which scored Mastrarosa. Cy Darnell would hit a single of his own and score Reagan. This set the Jailbirds up 7-3 at the end of the 5th.
In the 6th the Griffons would score a 4th.
The Griffons would take an 8-7 lead in the 9th.
Mastrarosa would score on a wild pitch to tie the game and send it to extra innings.
The Jailbirds would hold strong in the 10th and not let the Griffons score. In the bottom of the 10th leadoff hitter Cy Darnell was walked. Jordan Tucker would hit to right field to advance Brady Stull to third before Tucker got out on a base running error and Darnell would steal second to put two runners in scoring position. As Eric Williams Jr. stepped to the plate even a sac fly would win the game. Williams Jr. would get more with a single over the short stop to score Stull and win the game in walk off fashion.
Kutler Schwarting would pick up his first win.
The MAPP Technologies Jailbird of the Game was Gio Mastrarosa with a 3-run homer, a double, and a .750 OBP
