Landin Midgett signed with the 2026 Joplin Jailbirds

Junior Infielder joins the inaugural roster in Joplin

JOPLIN, Mo. -- Joplin Baseball has signed infielder, Landin Midgett, to the team. Landin will be joining his brother, Jace Midgett, as they both join the same roster in Joplin once again!

Landin Midgett opened his collegiate career at Coffeyville Community College, where he played in 86 games and posted a .335/.441/.512 slash line. He totaled 85 hits, scored 70 runs, drove in 53 RBIs, and added 8 home runs. Midgett is currently competing in his first season at Pittsburg State University with  42 RBI, .328 AVG, and 5 home runs.

“We’re really excited to add Landin to the roster,” stated Jailbirds Field Manager, Octavio Sanchez. “He (Landin) brings power and consistency to the lineup while also having the ability to move all over the diamond defensively. The fact that his brother is on the team adds a special dynamic and strengthens the sense of family within our program. At this level, it’s rare to have the opportunity to share the field with a family member, so we’re excited to have both of them wearing the Jailbird name across their chest.”

The Joplin Jailbirds will debut in Kirksville on May 29th, and their season home opener in Joplin on Tuesday, June 2nd.
