Joplin Jailbirds Walk Off Win Against the North Missouri Nattys 06/07/2026
The storms didn’t stop the Joplin Jailbirds (6-2, 5-2 MINK) from taking flight as they cruised to a 16-6 win against the North Missouri Naturals (3-7) in a game that ended in the 7th due to a mercy rule. They will play away at the Nevada Griffons Tuesday.
Gabe Perry and the Jbirds defense kept the Naturals locked down through the first four innings only allowing 1 hit.
The Jailbirds flew out of the gate with a pair of runs in the 1st. Landin Midgett helped Jordan Tucker home with a sacrifice ground out. An error off of a hit by Jaison DeLamar saw Rocco Regan make it to home plate.
It wouldn’t be long before more Jailbirds would score. In the bottom of the second the score would climb to 6-0 off an error, a walk, and 2 hits.
A DeLamar home run in the 4th would set the Jailbirds up by 7.
A series of walks would give the Naturals 6 runs in the 6th.
In response the Jailbirds would stretch their wings. Several big hits, including a 2 RBI triple from Austin Marsh, as well as few wild pitches, and steals would put the Jailbirds up 14-6.
Mason Williams would hit a walk off double sending Cy Darnell and DeLamar home to win the game (16-6) and the series (2-1) for the Jailbirds
The Mapp Technologies player of the game was pitcher Gabe Perry. He pitched in 5.66 innings allowing only 5 hits and 3 runs while striking out 2.
The Jailbirds will next head north to Nevada to play the Griffons on the 9th before a 6 game home stand starting on the 10th against the Carroll Merchants.
