Joplin Jailbirds vs St. Joseph Mustangs Double Header Recap: 06/24/2026
The Jailbirds (11-7, 10-7 MINK) would split with the 10-time MINK league champions, the St. Joseph Mustangs (10-8, 8-7 MINK), in two seven inning games.
The Jailbirds would win the first game off some late-inning heroics 5-4.
Landin Midgett would open up the day by sending the ball over center field for a 2 run home run.
The Mustangs would get their first run in the 4th and set the score at 2-1 Jailbirds.
St. Joseph would take the lead in the 6th. The score would be 3-2 Mustangs.
Drew Vonder Harr would come up big in the bottom of the 6th as he would go all the way for a 3 run home run.
That would prove to be the difference as, even though the Mustangs would score a run in the 7th, the Jailbird lead would hold and they would win 5-4.
Drew Vonder Harr was the MAPP Technologies Jailbird of the Game with that 3-run home run.
In the second game the Jailbirds would fall short 5-2.
In the bottom of the 1st Drew Vonder Harr would reach 1st base on fielder’s choice that would see Austin Marsh score.
The Mustangs would score 2 in the 3rd to take the lead.
The Mustangs would score 3 more in the 7th before Robert Page Jr. would end the inning.
The 5-1 scoreline would be too much for the Jailbirds to overcome.
Midgett would send Brady Stull home in a play that would see Midgett out.
The final score was 5-2 Mustangs.
Eric Williams Jr. was the MAPP Technologies Jailbird of the Game going 2-for-3 and an OBP of 1.000 as well as a stolen base.
