Joplin Jailbirds Sign Pitt State Pitcher
Cross Dowd has signed to play the summer in Joplin
JOPLIN, Mo. -- The Joplin Jailbirds sign sophomore pitcher, Cross Dowd, McDonald County native to the summer roster.
Dowd competed in his first full season with the Pitt State Gorillas this summer, previously competing at Coffeyville Community College. Previously at Coffeyville, Dowd appeared in 30 games, throwing 80 strikeouts.
“We are extremely excited to have Cross join us this summer. We also have his brother which adds to our chemistry in the clubhouse. On the mound he will be a key contributor to our success,” said Jailbirds Field Manager, Octavio Sanchez.
The Joplin Jailbirds will debut in Kirksville on May 29th, and their season home opener in Joplin on Tuesday, June 2nd.
