Jailbirds to Launch Inaugural Season with First-Ever Triple Play Tuesday on June 2

JOPLIN, Mo. — The Joplin Jailbirds will officially open their inaugural season on Tuesday, June 2 at Wendell Redden Stadium, and fans will be treated to more than just the first pitch in franchise history. The night will also mark the debut of Triple Play Tuesdays, a new weekly promotion designed to deliver affordable, family friendly entertainment to the Four States area.

Triple Play Tuesdays will feature $3 general admission tickets, $2 hot dogs and soft drinks, and beer specials throughout the evening, making it one of the most budget-friendly nights in Joplin this summer.

As the organization prepares for its first home opener, team leadership says the promotion reflects a core value of the franchise.

“Our mission from day one has been to create a place where families can come together without worrying about the cost,” said General Manager Donovan Harns. “Triple Play Tuesdays are about making sure every family in our community has the opportunity to experience Jailbirds baseball. We want Wendell Redden Stadium to be a place where memories are made all summer long, and affordability is a big part of that commitment.”

The June 2 home opener will represent a historic milestone for the franchise, as the Jailbirds take the field for their first home game in team history.
