Jailbirds sign Right-Handed Pitcher from Missouri Southern State University
Marcus Young will be playing for the Joplin Jailbirds this summer
JOPLIN, Mo. -- The Joplin Jailbirds signed sophomore Marcus Young, a Monett, MO local to the roster for a part of the summer.
Young has shown continued development on the mound, notably lowering his ERA during his sophomore season at Missouri Southern State University. His growth, consistency, and left-handed presence add valuable depth to the Jailbirds pitching staff heading into the summer.
“Marcus is a great addition to the Jailbirds, he was an All MIAA Relief pitcher for Missouri Southern this season. He has shown time and time again that he is built for the closer role on any roster,” shares Jailbirds’ GM, Donovan Harns.
The Joplin Jailbirds will debut in Kirksville on May 29th, and their season home opener in Joplin on Tuesday, June 2nd.
