Jailbirds sign Right-handed Pitcher from Coffeyville Community College

Destyn Dowd will be playing for the Joplin Jailbirds this summer

JOPLIN, Mo. -- The Joplin Jailbirds signed sophomore Destyn Dowd, a McDonald County, MO local to the roster for the summer.

Following a standout high school career, Dowd has continued developing his game at the collegiate level while refining his command and presence as a right-handed arm. His dedication to growth and team-first mentality make him a valuable addition to the Jailbirds pitching staff this summer.

“Destyn is local kid that will bring a sense of toughness and energy to the clubhouse. We are excited for him to be a Jailbird,” says Jailbirds’ GM, Donovan Harns.

The Joplin Jailbirds will debut in Kirksville on May 29th, and their season home opener in Joplin on Tuesday, June 2nd.
