Jailbirds sign Local Joplin Right-Handed Pitcher

Kutler Schwarting will be  representing Joplin this summer

JOPLIN, Mo. -- The Joplin Jailbirds sign freshman, Kutler Schwarting, a right-handed from Arkansas State University-Mountain Home to play at home in Joplin for the 2026 summer season. 

Schwarting is currently competing in his first season in Arkansas, previously playing for Joplin High School. Schwarting is building his skills appearing in 13 games with the Trailblazers and continuing his experience with the Jailbirds this summer. 

“Adding Kutler to the roster is huge for us going into the summer. Another local arm will be great to have!” shared Jailbirds General Manager, Donovan Harns. 

The Joplin Jailbirds will debut in Kirksville on May 29th, and their season home opener in Joplin on Tuesday, June 2nd.
