Flying fight: Joplin Jailbirds vs Nevada Griffons 6/18/2026

The Jailbirds (8-6, 7-6 MINK) snapped their losing streak against the Nevada Griffons (2-10, 2-9 MINK) by winning 6-5.

The Jailbirds will play two games away at Chillicothe Mudcats on the 19th and 20th. Their next home game will be on the 23rd against St. Joseph. 

The Jailbirds would get on the board first in the bottom of the 1st as Landin Midgett would single to send Jordan Tucker home and Shadrach Salazar would single to send Midgett home.

The Griffons would score in the 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th  innings. This set the score to 5-2 Nevada.

A Salazar double would score 2 runs in the 7th.Mastrorosa would score on a wild pitch to tie the game at 5 a piece.

Then an Eric Williams Jr double would score Jordan Tucker to take the lead for the Jbirds in the 8th. 

Jack LaTurner would strike out the Griffon’s Timothy Madera in 3 pitches to end the game

LaTurner was the winning pitcher, moving to 2-0.

Shadrach Salazar was the MAPP Technologies player of the game with 3 hits, 3 RBIs, and 2 doubles.
